The primary function of Elevator Advisors' evaluation program is to assist property managers and the elevator service company in determining the health of the elevator equipment. We assess all elevator equipment for proper operation and review our findings.
A typical review includes:
- A survey of the hoistway and machine room areas to determine the condition of the elevator equipment.
- Examine the control equipment, drive machines, rotating elements, signal fixtures, door operator and related hardware, hoist ropes, hydraulic systems, etc.
- Check emergency systems (fire, alarm, phones, etc.) for proper operation.
- Evaluate the service and / or maintenance work in place.
- Equipment performance is checked for car speeds, floor to floor performance, door operating times, ride quality, etc.
- Make recommendations on any corrections or improvements deemed necessary.
- If critical problems are found, discussions would be held with the elevator service company to get them corrected immediately.
A report is prepared upon completion of the evaluation, which summarizes the findings and, where necessary, includes suggested criteria for enhanced performance.
